Carl Renezeder One Step Closer to 100

  • Carl Renezeder captures LOORRS win number 98 on General Tires in his quest to reach 100 career wins.
  • Ryan Beat breaks out at Miller to post two podium finishes.

Fort Mill, SC - June 26, 2012.  The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) traveled to Miller Motorsports Park this weekend for Rounds 7 and 8 and as usual, the racing was fierce.  Team GT made an aggressive attempt to lock in wins but strong winds, slick track conditions and some of the most intense racing this year was a lot to overcome.  Veteran-driver Carl Renezeder returned to championship form logging career win number 98 in the No. 1 Lucas Oil/General Tire Nissan, one step closer to the century mark.  And up-and-comer Ryan Beat put on a spectacular show on his way to his first podium finishes of the 2012 season.

The Pro-4 trucks took to the track in Round 7 for a dogfight Saturday afternoon.  Full of determination and with just one goal in mind, Renezeder sliced and diced his way through the field passing Rob MacCachren on lap four for second-place.  The racing intensified following the mandatory caution period when Renezeder forced race leader Kyle LeDuc wide and slid past him on the inside to take the lead and secure career win number 98.  Renezeder's Team GT teammate Beat also made some spectacular moves to post his first podium finish of the 2012 season finishing third.

"I have to thank my Lucas Oil team for all their hard work this year," said Renezeder following the race.  "We got off to a slow start but these guys have been working really hard to fine-tune the trucks to ensure that the trucks will be more predictable so we can get back on top of the podium.  All the pieces are in place.  I have the best tires out there thanks to General Tire and Nissan has given me good trucks.  I think we're turning that corner and hopefully win number 100 isn't too far off."

Renezeder was in position to chalk up win number 99 in Pro-2 on Sunday as he made a dramatic pass for first just before the mandatory caution period.  Following an unscheduled pit stop under caution, Renezeder returned to the track and found himself mixing it up with the leaders but the laps clicked off and time ran out forcing Renezeder to a third-place finish.

Following his third-place finish, Beat continued his march to the top of the podium in Pro-Lite action on Saturday.  From the front row, Beat ran door-to-door with the competition maintaining his spot inside the top three for the duration of the race.  During a green-white-checkered finish, Beat was in hot pursuit of leader Brian Deegan but came up just shy of the win as he put the No. 51 Premiere Motorsports Group/Black Rhino Ford in P2 for the finish.  During Sunday's Round 8 racing, Beat won the pole for the Pro-Lite race and went on to a fourth-place finish in the same race.

Following the race weekend Beat (@ryanbeat) tweeted, "Pumped to be bringing home two podiums this weekend.  Thanks for the support @HartOffRoadTeam @eBayMotors @Lunarpages @teamgt @BlackRhinoUTV."

Kevin McCullough finished third in Limited Buggy competition during Round 8 giving Team GT six podiums on the weekend.  LOORRS returns to the track in August when the series visits Glen Helen.
