An icon in the world of motocross, Carey Hart began racing at just six-years-old, turning professional in 1993 at the age of 18. Hart launched his career in supercross then moved to freestyle motocross (FMX) in 1996. At the 2000 Gravity Games, Hart left his mark in the history annals when he completed the first ever backflip on a 250cc bike. Hart also logged a host of other successes including: Australia X Games gold medalist (1999); first-place at Costa Mesa LXD Freeride MotoX (1999); Summer Gravity Games bronze medal (1999); first-place in Costa Rican Supercross (1999); third-place at LXD Orange County Jump Contest (1999); fourth-place in 4 Leaf Entertainment Series (1999); Mountain Dew Trick-of-the-Week (2000); Toyota Trick-of-the-Week (2000); second and fifth place respectively at the Las Vegas and Irwindale LXD Freeride MotoX (2000); and X Games silver medalist in Moto X Big Air (2002). Hart is hoping to add to his achievements as he takes to the track in LOORRS Pro 4 competition for Premier Motorsports in 2012.
Taking his brand beyond the track, Hart opened Hart & Huntington Tattoo Shop in Las Vegas in 2004 and quickly expanded to Honolulu and Universal City Walk, Orlando. The A&E show Inked even followed the happenings of the shop. Hart can also claim hosting duties for ABC’s live coverage of the X Games Freestyle Motocross event in 2005. Additionally he has made appearances in ESPN The Magazine, Rolling Stone, the Late Show with David Letterman, The Today Show, and the movie Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Hart continues to extend his brand, most recently to the Hart & Huntington Off-Road short course truck team.
