2008 KMC Wheels TROPHYLITE Championship Series Presented by KC HiLiTES 

CHARLOTTE, NC – (August 1, 2008) – After two rounds of competition, the inaugural season of the 2008 KMC Wheels TROPHYLITE Championship Series Presented by KC HiLiTES is off to a scorching start.  General Tire is the official tire for the series.   The 2008 series will feature five races that will include both desert and short course settings.  Following the Best in the Desert Blue Water Gran Prix May 16-18, the points standings are as follows:

Round 3 of the series, the KCHiLiTES SNORE Midnight Special in Primm, NV, is set for August 8-10.“We are excited to partner with TROPHYLITE LLC, and this season is providing some of the best off-road competition this year.  We’re looking forward to the feedback that we will be able to gain in our constant effort to provide the best tire for TROPHYLITE competitors and off-road enthusiasts alike,” said Tony Talbert, General Tire product manager. TROPHYLITE is an affordable spec racing concept which provides the average off-road enthusiast the chance to step from the sidelines into the driver’s seat.  TROPHYLITE offers not only a very affordable high performance spec race truck, but also the chance to compete in a real racing series.  TROPHYLITE-manufactured trucks are based on a light duty two-wheel drive production Chevrolet truck, with a TROPHYLITE LLC chassis, approved drive train, and approved suspension components. Chassis, drive train, and suspension components also must be spec TROPHYLITE LLC components. General Tire has ‘unleashed the fury’ in off-road competitive performance with its Grabber competition tires as General Tire powers into off-road racing in 2008.   Designed with a tough, three-ply Duragen™-reinforced body construction to stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions, the Grabber also features a newly-developed competition-specific tread compound.  General Tire offers two distinct tread designs for different types of competitive conditions.   In addition, the Grabber name and General Tire logo are prominently featured on the sidewall in red and white letters.  The Grabber competition tires are designed in size 37x 12.50R17 for class 1, 7S, 7 unlimited, 8 and trophy truck.
