A Winning Weekend for Team General Tire

06/29/2009

Lake Elsinore, CA – (June 29, 2009) --  Team General Tire added additional wins to the record-books for the 2009 short-course racing season, as Carl Renezeder swept the series again, scoring a combined Unlimited 2 and Unlimited Open class wins at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event this past weekend at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex.  Adding to Renezeder’s success, General Tire-sponsored Sean Geiser took first place in the Limited Buggy Class, rounding out a solid weekend of wins for Team GT.

“Once again, Team General Tire has come through in tight competition to reach the winner’s podium.  Carl is such a great competitor, and when you pair his remarkable driving skills with the outstanding performance of our Grabber SC tires, Team General Tire is very tough to beat,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing, General Tire.

“And Sean Geiser has been a terrific addition to the team as well, bringing the power of Team GT to an entirely new class,” he added.

General Tire is again ‘unleashing the fury’ in off-road performance for 2009,

with the new Grabber Short Course tire, the Grabber SC, designed in size 35x12.50R17 for Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 drivers. Engineered with a tough, three-ply Duragen™-reinforced body construction to stand up to the rigors of off-road conditions, the Grabber SC also features a newly-developed competition-specific tread compound. In addition, the Grabber name and General Tire logo are prominently featured on the sidewall in red and white letters.

The Grabber SC is the sister tire to the Grabber desert tire designed in size 37x12.50R17 for class 8 and trophy truck/trick truck; and 35x12.50R17 for class 1, 6, 7, 7 S, stock mini and Protruck.

General Tire also has a complete line of Grabber tires for the passenger and light truck market, including the new Grabber DOT-approved off-road tire (to be released later this year); the Grabber HTS, which delivers the perfect synergy of comfort, durability and performance; the Grabber UHP, which sets a whole new standard in performance and ride quality for SUVs, light trucks and crossover vehicles; and Grabber AT2, designed for aggressive all-terrain traction in all weather conditions.
