Biography

Originally from Phoenix, AZ, it’s as if Rob “Fig” Naughton was born to race.  Like many off-road and short course experts, Naughton began racing motorcycles in 1980 at the age of 12.  But before progressing to four wheels, Naughton competed in NORBA sanctioned downhill mountain bike racing from 1995 – 1998, claiming the X-Games gold medal in the sport in ’95.  Several years later Naughton took to off-road racing where he saw some success in the desert but in 2006 he found his calling in short course racing where he was named CORR Rookie of the Year.  His momentum continued into the next year where he won the CORR ProLite Championship along with Driver of the Year honors.  In 2010 Naughton took his talents to the LOORRS courses of the west coast where he’s accrued 19 ProLite wins, 3 Pro 2 wins, the ’11 LOORRS Challenge Cup and the ’09 LOORRS Superlite Cup.  In 2012 Naughton made the move to Premiere Sports and General tires where he’s poised to add to his accolades.

Naughton graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.  He currently resides in Flagstaff, AZ with his wife Amber and daughter’s Isabella and Sophia.  Both he and his wife are RN’s at Flagstaff Medical Center.
